Jennifer is a world of knowledge about all platforms of Social Media. She has her own boutique social media training consultation business. She provides custom private and group sessions as well as off-site social media account management for clients across Ontario.
She is a part-time instructor with St Lawrence College in addition to being a contributor to Social Media today and Business2Community. When she’s not teaching at the college, she’s teaching in the community, being a key note speaker for an event, serving her clients, and blogging.
She’s a board member of the Greater Kingston Area Chamber of Commerce where next year she takes on the role of Chair. On May 12-13th Jennifer is a featured guest speaker at the The Photo & Digital Media Conference held here at St Lawrence College.
Jennifer always knew that she wanted to teach. As she shared her story about growing up and her desire to teach it was so obvious that she would certainly have been a teachers dream student! She loves to go after goals, check off the To-Do lists, and then put her new knowledge into practice. Her quest to become a teacher has resulted in BA in Business & Economics (which she says she’d love to teach some day) and a Bachelor of Education (with Distinction) in Adult Learning. She’s currently working on Masters of Education.
This girl loves to teach, connect with students, ease the learning by breaking down the content into meaningful ah-ha moments, and create curriculum. Whether a course outline or a blog, Jennifer seeks to share her knowledge with others so they can succeed. She is happiest when she is teaching, sharing, and consulting. Her track record for improving results for businesses or organizations through social media campaigns stands alone. She’s earned a reputation for getting results for her clients.
She certainly has her favourites in terms of platforms, and is an advocate of not trying to have an impact in ALL of the platforms. She advices that business owners develop a strong presence in the platforms where your customers are and to not feel that you need to be everywhere.
We had a great discussion about the merits of Periscope, Instagram, and Facebook Live versus Twitter. Jennifer has a way of breaking down the tool into the fundamentals to help you decide if the tool fits you, your brand, and your intent. She was very forthcoming with advice for specific questions from the ladies. I love the fact that she humbly considers herself “still learning” and fuels her knowledge and zest for continual learning by staying on trend and reading, and trying out all the new functionality the social media world has to offer.
I witnessed her key note speaking style and her classroom teaching style. She is a natural and switching up her style to meet the needs of her students, allowing for an opportunity for everyone to learn.
She’s a chip fan who loves to read, hike, and defines success as “being happy”. Dogs, Funerals, & Children – I can’t wait and I want my copy autographed please!
